Raised in Pembroke, Dwight grew up under the influence of pastors who believed in, practiced revivalism, and embraced the Charismatic renewal experienced in the 1970s. Following graduation from EPBC/Master’s College and Seminary in 1985, Dwight spent the next 12 years serving congregations in Thunder Bay, Oshawa, and Cobourg believing that the things he’d experienced and seen while growing up were only a shadow of what God would do in the future. In 1996, Dwight, Ruth and their three daughters moved to Ajax where they began to serve the church family of Southside Worship Centre. Following that period, Dwight followed God’s invitation to embark on a journey that led to a career in corporate Human Resources. Dwight currently serves as a People & Culture leader in the not-for-profit sector working for organizations that provide homeless shelters and services for precariously housed and street-involved people, services for seniors who lack support systems, long-term care, childcare centres, programs for children and youth, and supports for newcomers across Canada. While doing this work, he and Ruth continue to believe that God wants to personally reveal Himself to us and encourage other to do the same through the worship and music ministry at Family Worship Centre.
